French Laundry - Exquisite but Expensive
January - 2015
French Laundry is currently closed for 6 months for a kitchen renovation.
It's truffle season!
According to a recent post by Chef Keller on Facebook, the French Laundry has just received the first of this seasons truffles. If you have never enjoyed this most tempting of morsels, now is the time to do so and there's simply no better venue than the French Laundry! - December 2013

El Bulli - Not Quite....
So, I've always wanted to go to El Bulli. You know it's Ferran Adria's famous restaurant that takes a year to get a reservation at? Yeah, that one.
Anyway I was in Spain and I was dying to go there, luckily I was also a fan of the PBS series On the Road Again - Spain because the show went to the most fantastic eatery on the planet. It was Bar Inopia in Barcelona which is owned by Chef Adria's brother! The food was fantastic! Some of the best ever, and I've been to some pretty great places.
It's a teeny, tiny little bar in Barcelona with maybe 10 teeny tables and a bar that seats 20ish. We had the fried chicken which was battered in chicken flavored potato chips - it was to die for. There was also a aioli type dipping sauce that had turmeric in it - wow. Absolutely fab. My hubby had the shrimp - he said it was the best shrimp ever. Very simply prepared, just grilled, but I think it may have been brined before hand because it was perfectly seasoned.
Sooo, if want to eat some of the best food on the planet, and don't want to spend much, go to Bar Inopia - you'll be glad you did. Trust me - I'm a foodie.
